INTRODUCING SEASON 1 TEAM MEMBERS

  • GABRIELLE CHÂTELAINE

Dancing for as long as she can remember, Gabrielle grew up training in Ottawa, Ontario, specializing in tap and hip hop while also studying jazz and ballet. She competed across Canada and the United States, earning top placements in group, trio, duo, and solo numbers. At 14, she began performing with prominent Franco-Ontarian artists including Céleste Lévis, DJ Unpier, Radio Radio, Le Flo Franco, and Gros Big. She later collaborated with Canadian pop singer Mandia. Through these opportunities, Gabrielle performed, choreographed, and took on artistic direction for numerous live shows and music videos. She completed her Advanced level exams in tap and jazz with the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT), After leaving the competitive scene, Gabrielle joined PNL Dance Co., performing at major showcases such as United Groove and Culture Shock. She then discovered heels, a dance style that raised her confidence and sense of empowerment to a whole new level, while setting her hip hop and classical dance skills on a pair of stilettos. Gabrielle shares her passion through teaching students of all ages. Now based in Toronto, Gabrielle recently founded the GBC Dance Team and released her own concept video, GoodAndBad (GAB). She is thrilled to continue growing her artistry and is honoured to be performing with Solé Noir’s Heels Performance Team in their upcoming travelling burlesque production.

  • BROOKLYN GARRIDO

Being a dancer and choreographer, Brooklyn has always loved bringing hip hop, jazz funk, heels, jazz, and dancehall vibes to life — whether it’s on stage or just dancing in her kitchen. Most recently, she trained with Muse The Company to refine her heels and performance skills, and choreographed for U of T Scarborough’s competitive dance team, performing at halftime shows and community events. Being part of Solé Noir gives Brooklyn the opportunity to keep pursuing her passion, celebrating artistry, empowerment, and connection through movement.

  • ANEŽKA FAGOŠOVÁ

Anezka’s dance journey began at the age of 7 as a belly and oriental dancer, performing in numerous shows and really embracing the stage. She later added hip-hop classes to expand her training, and eventually discovered Jazz Funk and heels—styles she absolutely loves and considers her favorite.

She thrives on performing and takes every opportunity to get on stage, seeing it as a way to grow as a dancer while having fun. Joining Solé Noir is exciting for her because it’s a team of passionate dancers who share her energy and dedication. She looks forward to contributing her creativity, giving her all in rehearsals and performances, and learning from everyone around her.

Outside of dance, Anezka is a creative soul who enjoys listening to music, exploring fashion, and practicing yoga.

  • JADE CASTRO

She was born and raised in Yucatán, Mexico, and began dancing at the age of 4. After training in ballet and rhythmic gymnastics, she found her passion for contemporary dance, specializing in Graham technique. At 14, she won her first international competition, earning a scholarship to Sorrento Dance Campus in Italy, followed by a scholarship in Barcelona the next year. She graduated from Centro Estatal de Bellas Artes in Mérida with a Bachelor in Arts specializing in Contemporary Dance, later joining Siglo XXI Dance Company in Cancún, where she performed burlesque, cabaret, and heels shows across the city’s tourist venues. In 2023, she moved to Toronto to expand her opportunities, and in 2024 participated in Kylie Thompson’s contemporary summer intensive, presenting her own choreography in the final showcase.

  • MARIA PAULA LAVERDE

Maria Paula started her dance journey at the age of 6, in Bogota, as a ballerina. She continued to train in ballet, contemporary and jazz for more than 20 years and went on to perform in different classic ballet repertoires as a soloist. At the age of 12 she became part of Ballet Santa Fe de Bogota, a national Colombian Folclore group that went on to perform around Colombia, and in festivals in NYC and Mexico City. While being a part of the group she trained and competed in ballroom for a couple of years, before she moved to the USA to pursue her studies. While in university she was part of the dance team, with whom she continued performing and competing. Once she returned home she went on to work as a professional dancer, appearing in a TV show, commercials and performing with a national artist. At the peak of her career she was once again faced with the decision to continue dancing or go for her Masters in Science. She went for the second choice which landed her in Montreal, a city that introduced her to heels seven years ago, and she hasn’t stopped obsessing over since then. Now living in Toronto she is being dedicated to training in different street dance styles and wants to continue her professional dance career. She is eager to be part of a team of women that lift and embrace each other.

  • MARKÉTA FAGOŠOVÁ

Marketa’s dance journey began as a figure skater, where ballet was a crucial part of her training. She later moved into hip-hop, dancing competitively with a group in her early teens. After taking a brief pause, she discovered jazz funk and immediately fell in love with it. She also embraced heels, which transformed her as a dancer and deepened her appreciation for the femininity and artistry in dance.
Marketa thrives on growth, new opportunities, and having fun, which makes being part of Solé Noir especially exciting for her. She loves the concept of the team and is thrilled to be part of it from the very beginning, feeling grateful for the opportunity to contribute and grow with the group.
Outside of dance, Marketa enjoys yoga, running or walking, slow mornings, and cuddling with her cat.

KELLY MAZEROLLE

I’m Kelly Mazerolle, founder of Sole Noir, and dance didn’t just save my life — it gave me a new one. For years, I struggled, lost in a cycle that left me feeling powerless and disconnected from who I truly was. But when I found dance again — specifically heels choreography and the powerful art of burlesque — everything changed. Movement became my therapy, the stage became my safe space, and every performance became a step toward healing. Inspired by the raw passion of the Burlesque movie and my deep love for expressive, sensual dance, I created Sole Noir not just as a team, but as a movement. This is a space where we celebrate resilience, individuality, and the power of owning your story. Sole Noir is for every soul who's fought through the dark and is ready to rise, shine, and perform without apology. My mission is to grow this into a touring dance force across Ontario — one that empowers, inspires, and shows that you can come back from anything stronger, sexier, and more unstoppable than ever.
